Good design comes in small packages. MICROTECTURE 2019 final registration deadline is approaching!

Wednesday, Sep 18, 2019

Large-scale structures and the quest to design the world’s biggest buildings has caused architecture to be created on a monstrous scale. However, bigger isn’t always better, and small-scale architecture is due its moment in the spotlight.

Instead of simply shrinking down homes, the Bee Breeders MICROHOME 2019 competition is looking to reinvent the miniature home. The competition encourages architects and designers to implement new technology, incorporate innovative materials in order to create a sustainable, modular home that exists off the grid.

With just 25 square metres to work with, participants will need to be as creative as possible as they look to create more space in the world by taking up less of it.
