Westraven Office Complex Wins Dutch Construction Award 2009

The cepezed-designed expansion and renovation of the Westraven office complex in Utrecht has won the Dutch Construction Award 2009 in the Buildings category. cepezed-architect Ronald Schleurholts and project manager Etienne Schoenmaeckers of the commissioning Government Buildings Agency received the prize during the festive Gala of Dutch Construction on Wednesday February 11.
The jury comprised of amongst others professors in sustainable housing and architectural engineering called the renewed Westraven ‘a dazzling beacon within its complex urban situation’ and considers the redefininition of the building ‘exemplarily elaborated’. The adjudicators especially praised the sustainability of the construction and is of the opinion that it radiates progress and transparancy to all sides.
