International Master Plan Competition for the National Assembly Sejong Complex

1. Purpose of the Competition

This competition aims to establish a master plan for the construction of the National Assembly Sejong Complex of the Republic of Korea and serves as a preliminary project to set the standards and framework for comprehensive spatial planning prior to subsequent individual architectural design competitions and project implementation.

On this basis, the competition seeks to select creative and outstanding proposals for the National Assembly Sejong Complex and its surrounding spaces that symbolically represent the dignity of the Republic of Korea and spatially embody its future vision.

The core objective of this competition is to formulate a fundamental conceptual vision for the National Assembly Sejong Complex and its environs that ideally realize public pride, social cohesion, and forward-looking values grounded in the constitutional principles of the Republic of Korea, such as popular sovereignty, justice, peace, freedom, and prosperity.
