Now in its 27th year, the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition recognizes the exceptional work of North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their institutional, residential and commercial spaces.
The competition is open to all North American architects, interior designers and students. Domestic and international new construction and renovation projects completed between January 2015 and January 2020 are eligible for entry in the residential, commercial and institutional categories. Students must be enrolled at an accredited university in North America to be eligible.

Judging criteria
A panel of design experts will judge the projects based on their creativity, functionality, sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The of cial criterion for the jury includes: overall design of the project, innovative use of tile, tile design, degree that tile enhances the setting and the project’s sustainable attributes.
Deadline
** New Deadline to submit is January 31st. Winners will be notified in March and officially announced at the Ceramics of Italy Press Conference at Coverings, held April 20-23, 2020 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana

Eligibility
Commercial, residential, and institutional projects completed within the last five years (January 2015 - January 2020) are eligible in the built categories. Projects can be new construction or renovation and domestic or international as long as the architect or designer is based in North America. As it is a competition celebrating ITALIAN TILE, projects must feature ceramic or porcelain tile from at least one member company of Ceramics of Italy.
