International Space Planning Competition for Seoul Station 

1. Purpose

As part of the project to enhance the city's dignity, this space planning competition seeks to gather creative ideas from experts to grant symbolic status to Seoul Station as the central national station and to transform the Seoul Station Plaza area into a public space centered on greenery and pedestrian-friendly environments.

4. Eligibility

• Professional companies and individuals(those who meet the qualification criteria below) in the urban, architecture, and landscape fields either domestic or international can participate individually or jointly. 
  • A licensed architects either domestically or internationally, or hold a domestic urban planning and landscape architecture professional engineer qualification under the National Technical Qualifications Act, or assistant professors or higher position in the related department at a university under Article 2 of the Higher Education Act. 
• In the case of joint applications, up to three individuals (or firms) are allowed, and one of the joint applicants must be designated as the representative. 
• Individuals who have been directly or indirectly involved in the planning, advising, or judging of this space planning competition are not eligible to participate.
• Individuals registered as a representative or a member of a joint application team cannot participate in another joint application team for this competition. 
• All participants must not have any disqualifying reasons under relevant laws and regulations.

• Briefing Session : August 6, 2024 (Tue)

• Answer Session : August 12, 2024 (Mon)
• Entry Submission : September 20, 2024 (Fri) 17:00 deadline
• Judging (1st Round) : September 24, 2024 (Tue)

6. Awards for Winning and Honorable Mention Works

• 1st Place (1 work) : Prize of 100 million KRW
• 2nd Place (1 work) : Prize of 30 million KRW
• Honorable Mention(5 works) : Prize of 10 million KRW each
