Taichung City Cultural Center International Competition (Public Library & Fine Arts Museum)

WANTED:
    A Master Architect to Shape Taichung's Cultural Persona

Invitation:
    If you have vision for branding a city's cultural identity
    If you have prowess in choreographing a city's urban aesthetics
    We are looking for you!

Site:
The site is located on the northern end of Taichung Gateway Park, which is part of Taichung Gateway District, Taiwan (R.O.C.). With Convention and Exhibition Center to its north, this project will integrate parkland landscape to form a key cultural landmark and an entryway gesture into Taichung Gateway Park.

Spacial Requirement:
The project will comprise Taichung Public Library and Taichung Fine Arts Museum.

Design Objective:
In response to a growing urban population, urban development and changing cultural environment, this project aims to provide citizens with a multipurpose cultural, artistic and recreational facility. By combining and synergizing the functions of arts, culture and education, the overall goal is to enhance cultural services, amenity, making arts and culture an integral part of the city life.
Other design objectives include promoting culture-related industries, linking tourism, marketing resources and enhance branding of the city as a cultural hub.

Taichung City Government cordially invites outstanding local and international design firms to contribute your vision and participate in this competition!

Total Construction Budget:
About NT$2,410,000,000. (Approximately US$ 80,000,000. Subject to the announced tender document.)

Service Fee:
The service fee for this project is 13.5% of the total construction cost. (Subject to the announced tender document.)

Qualifications for Participation: (for Stage One)
1. Any licensed architect of Taiwan (R.O.C.), alone or in joint tender.
2. Any licensed architect (or Firm / Corporation) of foreign country, alone or in joint tender.
3. Joint tender of licensed architects of Taiwan (R.O.C.) and licensed architects (or Firms / Corporations) of foreign countries.
