Nippon Young Designer Award 2008

Entrants in the 2008 Nippon Young Designer Award must be enrolled in a school of interior design or architecture, located in Malaysia. This contest is open to all student members in final year Diploma and 3 rd year Degree onwards . Only one entry per student member is allowed. All completed entries must be postmarked by September 30, 2008.

To enter, submit an entry form with your concept statement, a maximum of seven display boards to the designated coordinator within your department (interior design or architectural). Please see the Program Requirements for further specifications on design board guidelines.

Entries will become the property of Nippon Paint. A team of professional members in the industry, whose decisions are final, will judge the entries. The winner will be announced on the award ceremony, to be held in November 2008. An alternate winner will be chosen if winner cannot be present at the dinner. The winning entry will be featured in any of the marketing and promotional materials deemed appropriate by the organizer and the sponsor.

The top winner from each category will receive the following: RM3,000 scholarship in cash and expenses-paid trip to visit Nippon Paint Colour Studio in Tokyo, Japan.

Competition Objective

The objective of this project is to test students’ skills in the application of colour imagination and creativity into the projects.
