Roberto Burle Marx: Brazilian Modernist | Open now until September 18, recommended by Justine Testado
If you haven't been yet, don't miss out on the first full U.S. exhibition of landscape architecture legend Roberto Burle Marx, whose famous works include the boldly patterned sidewalk mosaics at Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach. In this exhibition, seven contemporary artists with ties to Latin America, and who were all born after 1950, showcase Burle Marx's lasting influence in their own work.

Zoning New York Boat Tour | August 23, recommended by Amelia Taylor-Hochberg
If a city has a boat tour, you should do it. If that isn't reason enough, then the 100th anniversary of New York City's zoning resolution should be a compelling enough occasion to consider its fraught (but momentous) history from the deck of a sunset cruiser.

Lecture with Jürgen Mayer H | August 23, recommended by Nicholas Korody
Lying down in the middle of Times Square is usually a rather unappealing prospect. But Jürgen Mayer H is about to change that with his installation "XXX Times Square", which comprises a series of x-shaped, communal lounge furniture (as well as a winking nod at Times Square's seedier past). Hear more about the project at this lecture, hosted by the Center for Architecture. It's free for AIA members and $10 for the rest of us.

Young Architects Program (YAP) 2016 | Open now until August 28, recommended by Alexander Walter
The final week of this summer's Young Architects Program courtyard installation sadly is already upon us. (I know, right?) So don't be tardy, kids, and head over to MoMA PS1, marvel at Escobedo Soliz Studio's intricately woven canopy, and shake yer booteys at the last Warm Up outdoor music sessions every Saturday through August 27.
