The Royal Institute of British Architects just revealed the winners of this year's RIBA London Awards. After publishing a shortlist of 83 finalists back in March, the list of award-winning buildings still sports an impressive selection of 47 projects, including new work by household names such as Heatherwick Studio, David Chipperfield Architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, and Grimshaw.
"2019 winning projects range from a one-bedroom
private house which spans the length of two private garages to one of
the busiest train stations in the country," RIBA London Director, Dian Small, commented on the diverse range of project types. "They also include several
significant public sector housing projects, beautifully-designed school
extensions, state of the art office buildings and exquisite conservation
projects, which breathe new life into some of London’s greatest
treasures."
All selected buildings now have the chance to also win a RIBA National in June and, with some luck, the coveted Stirling Prize in October.
