One of the industry's most anticipated events has kicked off again in Lisbon, Portugal, this year, with the 2022 edition of the World Architecture Festival and its sister event, INSIDE World Festival of Interiors, welcoming architects and designers from around the world to the three-day gathering.

Commencing the program on Day 1 were the presentations from the shortlisted projects vying for World Building, Interior, Future Project, and Landscape of the Year awards and the jury's initial round of selections in the respective disciplines and categories.

Take a look at the first field of recognized projects below, and stay tuned for more coverage throughout the week and the concluding presentation of the coveted main category awards.

Archinect's Niall Patrick Walsh is also on the scene in Lisbon — look out for his interviews with noteworthy architects coming soon.
