The chapel’s design draws on neuroscience and environmental psychology, using biophilic elements and scientifically developed fractal patterns to support emotional well-being in a hospital setting. Created in collaboration with researchers at the University of Oregon/Fractals Research, the custom-generated fractals provide visual engagement and relaxation.

A minimal material palette, dominated by wood, highlights the interplay of pattern, form, and light. The 350-square-foot space features a double-height volume, a full-height glass facade, and an 26-foot interior culminating at a sculpted walnut-root altar that anchors the chapel’s contemplative atmosphere.
