New architecture and design competitions: Reimagining Pei, AR Emerging awards, Passive House Network Design Award, and Parkland 17 Memorial Design Competition

Reimagining Pei

"Architecture Sarasota in conjunction with New College of Florida is pleased to announce the establishment of Reimagining Pei—a design competition devised to honor the unique work of renowned architect I.M. Pei by boldly transforming the iconic Pei Dormitories on New College’s East Campus (a.k.a. Pei Campus). In the spirit of the original commission process awarded to Pei sixty years ago, in 1963, the contest invites practicing architects to adaptively reuse the dorms through designs that reflect plans for recreation, entertainment and athletics on the East campus."

AR Emerging awards 2023

"Launched in 1999, the AR Emerging awards grant early recognition to young designers and celebrates the architectural stars of tomorrow. Established by The Architectural Review in response to the heavy-hitting Gold Medals, Pritzkers, and other lifetime achievement awards, the AR Emerging awards recognise a promising portfolio of work and propels young talent onto the international stage early in their careers."

The Passive House Network 2023 Design Awards

"The first annual competition hosted by The Passive House Network will recognize climate-specific innovation in project design and detailing to address the particular needs of the site, local climate, and bioregion."

Parkland 17 Memorial Design Competition
Register/Submit Deadline:  Friday, Sep 15, 2023

"The Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation is inviting art and design professionals to submit conceptual design proposals for a memorial to the 17 victims of the massacre which took place on February 14, 2018, at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Memorial Design: The memorial will honor and pay tribute to the 17 individuals who were murdered, as further described in the attached report compiled by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission. It will serve as a place where all are welcome to mourn or peacefully reflect, especially families, friends, and residents of the Parkland and Coral Springs communities."
