Two First Prizes have been given at the "Downtown Fargo: an urban-infill competition", an international, conceptual urban ideas competition for Fargo, North Dakota. The challenge, sponsored by Fargo-based developer Kilbourne Group, was open to architects, designers, engineers, landscape architects, and students and asked to envision an exceptional multi-use space that accommodates retail, residential, parking, office, and civic space. The space needed to convey the energy of “live, work and play” in Downtown Fargo.
The jury also picked a Second-Place winner, as well as three Honorable Mentions. Three projects received People's Choice Awards.
All entries are currently being displayed at a public gallery exhibit at The Loretta Building (208 Broadway) in Downtown Fargo, ND through December 18. Additionally, thumbnail versions of the entries can be viewed at the competition’s Flickr gallery.
