Russian affordable housing competition announces 20 finalists

20 finalists from 9 countries were shortlisted for the Standard Housing and Residential Development Concept Design. The aim of the competition is to meet the needs of Russian city residents and developers to reduce time and costs in order to provide affordable housing. The competition participants had the task of creating optimal planning solutions that will be easily adapted to different urban contexts and climate conditions, as well as to the changes introduced during the project implementation phase.

The winning projects will be developed by the Agency for Housing Mortgage Lending in cooperation with KB Strelka. Guidelines for proposals provided three target models: low-rise residential, mid-rise residential and central. Each participant was able to develop up to 4 types of apartment houses for the urban environment target model selected during the registration process. 

The final competition winners will be announced in April of this year. Scroll down and check out the projects that have made it so far:
