Just Launched: the 39th Annual KRob Architectural Delineation Competition

By Bustler Editors|

Friday, Sep 6, 2013

KRob 2012, Best in Category - Professional Hand: Gary Schuberth, AIA, ASAI, NCARB, LEED AP.

The annual KRob Architectural Delineation Competition is coming back for its 39th year. The competition was established in 1974 by the AIA Dallas Chapter and named after architect Ken Roberts who was recognized for his talent in ink perspective drawing. As the world's oldest architectural drawing competition currently in operation, KRob recognizes original works that best represent the artistic qualities of the medium in both hand-drawn and digital formats.

Students and professionals are all invited to submit their best architectural illustrations like elevations, sections and perspectives, and can be conceptual or final renderings. Submissions must be authored by one individual and multiple entries are allowed. However, submissions awarded in past KRob competitions are not eligible. All entries can be submitted online or physically by mail.

Jurors will include Alex Hogrefe (founder of alexhogrefe.com), sci-fi and fantasy artist Stephan Martiniere, and Perry Kulper (architect and associate professor at University of Michigan).

Submissions are due Oct. 28, 2013 at 5 pm CST (physical entries must be postmarked by that date). Winners in different categories from both student and professional entries will be announced at the awards presentation and reception on Nov. 14 – and here on Bustler shortly after.
