David Adjaye was honored with the 2016 Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The prize celebrates an individual's distinctive artistic trajectory and their potential to produce more distinguishable work in the future. The Council for the Arts at MIT will make the official announcement on October 30. Then, Adjaye will be presented with the award during a gala held in his honor on March 29, 2016. Past recipients include Olafur Eliasson, Santiago Calatrava, Robert Lepage Gustavo Dudamel, Bill Viola, and Suzan Lori Parks, among others.
