The New York City-based Institute for Public Architecture has released details about a group of five researchers comprising its new 2023 Fall Fellows cohort.

New Fellows Ruth Sergel, RJ Millhouse, Corey Arena, Luz Wallace, and Talles Lopes de Oliveira were chosen as the next round of participants, representing a broad body of scholarship that includes a study of Brazilan agricultural development and town planning in the 20th century, spatial marginalization, technologically-driven social change, architectural robotics, and inclusive design.

As part of the program, Fellows will live and work together for nine weeks at the historic 184-year-old Governor's Island Block House, where each will engage in a series of public-facing programs and other internal cohort activities.

Fellows were selected by a four-member committee that included Claudia Herasme, Line Algoed, Tamara Greenfield, and new Pratt Institute School of Architecture Dean Quilian Riano.

The organization will incorporate examples of their work as part of its slate of exhibitions programming, which begins with the first Fall 2023 Open Library series event on October 28 from 12 PM to 4 PM. The Block House will be open to the public each weekend during those hours from October 8th to November 26th to view the exhibition. Additional information about the IPA's programs and seasonal residencies can be found here
