A new site-specific art exhibition at the Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles features an installation using the museum's architecture itself as a major aspect of the work. The foundation's founders, Guess brothers Maurice and Paul Marciano, invited artist Olafur Eliasson to create a piece specific to their museum's space. Eliasson's practice as an artist is known to reach outside the gallery into architectural projects and interventions in civic space. The artist's interest in architectural space is clear in his exhibition titled Reality Projector (2018), which features projected light manipulated in relation to the space's existing structure—a method creating a dynamic shadow play.

Eliasson's installation, located in the museum's expansive Theater Gallery, directly references the space's prior function as a theater as well as Los Angeles's history of filmmaking. The artist creates a three dimensional film for the viewer to fully experience the space free of any objects. This experience is accompanied by audio created by Eliasson and Jónsi, lead signer of Sigur Rós.

Along with the exhibition, the museum presents a live "liminal" sound bath with Jónsi, Alex Somers and Paul Corley. This meditative experience will take place within Eliasson's immersive installation. For the event, visual elements of Reality projector will continue to play while the musicians weave together their own repurposed sounds. To heighten the experience, prior to the live sound bath Lord Jones Pain & Wellness Formula CBD Tinctures will be available to help attendees achieve a deeper state of transformation.

The sound bath will be held on May 9th with tickets to be released on the MAF event webpage on April 25th at 1:00 pm PST. Reality Projector will be on view at the museum until August. Admission to the Marciano Art Foundation is free, however reservations must be made ahead of time.
