Get the scoop on SCOPE, the 2016 Young Taiwanese Architectural Designer Exhibition

By Bustler Editors|

Friday, Jan 22, 2016

Eugene Chang: Pool House.

If you're in need of more inspiration from the Young Taiwanese Architectural Designer Exhibition, the show is coming back for round two with SCOPE. Opening on January 24 at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, the exhibition features the works of 31 emerging Taiwanese architecture designers based in the Greater New York area. Following the success of the first exhibition TRANSPLANT, SCOPE digs into the mindsets on these young designers reflecting on their cultural roots in Taiwan — in addition to their personal experiences living in NYC.

Opening day will feature guest speakers Michael Speaks, dean of the Syracuse Unversity School of Architecture;  Michael Su, visiting professor at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture; and Jeff Hou, professor and chair of the University of Washington Department of Landscape Architecture. They'll each talk about their own personal experiences of developing their architectural identities.

Get a glimpse of some of the exhibited projects below.

Chen Chen: The Rotation of Laundromat.
Chi Hsuan Wang: Analysis and Representation.
Tim Lee: Underwater Resiliency.
Wei Chun Chan: From Past to Present Leica-Camera.
Yi Chen Li: Racial Relationships and Urban Form.
Yu Chi Kuo: The Breathed Hill.
