Daniel Libeskind received the honorary degree during the upcoming annual Board of Governors meeting for his “significant contribution to discourse in the theory and practice of international architecture and in acknowledgement of his design of outstanding museums and monuments commemorating important historical events worldwide, especially those dedicated to the history of the Jewish people.”

Daniel Libeskind was born in Poland and has been a US citizen since 1965. He studied music in Israel and New York and in 1970 studied architecture, becoming one of the best-known architects of our time. Among his many projects are the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Jewish Museum in Copenhagen, the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal: Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, and the Hyundai Development Corporation Headquarters in Seoul.
