A Coworking Interior Design Challenge To Let The Imagination Run Wild. Final Registration Deadline Approaching!

By Sponsor|

Monday, Jan 7, 2019

Office spaces were once a fairly standard concept, piling in as many workers as was possible, and separating the managers with glass doors and glass ceilings. But these days, rows of cubicles and grey spaces are no longer the norm, and freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners have welcomed the emergence of the coworking space.

The Urban Zoo is a new series of coworking spaces set to open their first venue within Latvia’s capital city, Riga, in the Spring of 2019. It aims to be “a home for creative beasts”, firmly built on the ideals of integration and non-discrimination.

For this interior design competition, participants are tasked with creating the brand’s interior design aesthetic that will be replicated in all future workspaces; everything from color palette to furniture selection and kitchen specifics. As winning designs will be considered for the final brand image, it is important that that not only include features that make for an efficient working environment, but include an element of play that could spark creative collaboration.

Whether participants base their designs on proven ergonomic concepts, or entirely reimagining the layout of the modern coworking space is up to them, what is crucial is that the submitted designs can be adapted and replicated across multiple layouts and in multiple locations.

The Urban Zoo Coworking Design Challenge is open until February 8, and winners of the US $5,000 prize will be announced on March1, 2019.
