The Guggenheim's third Wikipedia Edit-a-thon spotlights Women in Architecture

As part of Archtober 2015 and New York Archives Week, the Guggenheim Museum is ready to host their third Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Women in Architecture this Thursday, October 15. Also dubbed the "guggathon", the event invites both new and experienced Wiki-editors to enhance Wikipedia articles related to women in architecture.

The editing session starts at 3:30 p.m., but there'll be more happening earlier in the day. Plus, all the events are free!

Planning to attend? Here's a preview of the day's program:

Noon: A presentation by Arielle Assouline-Lichten and Caroline James, the Harvard Graduate School of Design students behind the petition to award Denise Scott Brown the 1991 Pritzker Architecture Prize.

2 p.m.: Panel discussion moderated by Mary McLeod (Professor of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, GSAPP) and Victoria Rosner (Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs + Adjunct Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University,). McLeod and Rosner will explore the work of pioneering women in American architecture.

3:30 p.m.-8 p.m.: Wikipedia editing session. The session will be joined by ArchiteXX, the founders of WikiD: Women Wikipedia Design. Participants will need to bring their own laptop and power cord. If you're not in New York, you can participate remotely.

Participants are also invited to join an architectural tour of the Guggenheim Museum led by Guggenheim associate director Megan Chusid.
