Winners of the 2012 Emirates Glass LEAF Awards

Public Building award and Overall winner for 2012: Sou Fujimoto Architects, with Musashino Art University Museum & Library Tokyo, Japan

The final results of the 9th Annual Emirates Glass LEAF Awards have been announced in London. Winner of the Public Building Award, and also Overall Winner for 2012, was Sou Fujimoto Architects for their project Musashino Art University Museum & Library in Tokyo, Japan.

The 2012 jury consisted of architects Irving Brauer (chairman, principal of Brauer Associates), Phil Holden (managing director of Pascall+Watson architects), Lucy Bullivant (architectural curator, critic, author), Paolo Brescia (partner of Open Building Research), and Kasia Fiutowska (founding partner of Sketch Design).

Following are the 2012 award winners.

Public Building award: Stephen Marshall Architects, with Rothschild Archive, UK
Residential Building of the year award (multiple occupancy): Rafiq Azam with S.A Residence, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Residential Building of the year award (multiple occupancy) - Special award: Studio Daniel Libeskind, DCA Architects PTE Ltd, with Reflections at Keppel Bay
Residential Building of the year award (single occupancy): Architectureburo Govaert & Vanhoutte with Villa Roces, Bruges, Belgium
Mixed - Use Building of the year award: Steven Holl Architects with Daeyang Gallery & House, South Korea
Refurbishment of the year award: Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects, with The Granary
Refurbishment of the year award - Special award: Masrah Al Qasba Theatre, Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, by Magma Architecture
Best Sustainable Development: Arup Associates with The Druk White Lotus School, Shey, India
Best Future Building 2012 (joint winner): Skidmore Owings + Merrill with Manhattan Loft Gardens, London, UK
Best Future Building 2012 (joint winner): The Rock Stadium, Al Ain, UAE
International Interior Design award: Billard Leece Partnership & Bates Smart with HKS, with The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia
Commercial Building of the year award: WOW Architects with Vivanta Hotel, Bangalore, India
Young Architect of the year award: Marco Guarnieri, with White Grounds UK
Lifetime Achievement in architectural community award: Daniel Libeskind
